If you want a bathroom that not only looks good but is functional too, check out these 8 time-saving bathroom organization tips.
It’s not easy to get out of the house with kids in tow. And it’s even harder when you’re struggling to find your missing mascara and a clean place for your toothbrush—or any other bathroom products.
I’ve been there, and I know just how precious your time is. But don’t worry, these eight time-saving tips are here to help. Learn how to organize your bathroom to stay clutter-free and ready for use no matter what time of day or night you need it!

8 Bathroom Organization Ideas
1. Organize your drawers with dividers
Drawer dividers are a lifesaver for the bathroom. They help keep everything neat and organized, so you can find what you need without having to search through all of your drawers or cabinets.
Plus, when everyone knows where their stuff goes, kids (and husbands!) can find what they need on their own, and there’s no excuse for not putting things back where they belong.
You’ll also find that being organized saves you money. You stop buying duplicates of things you don’t really need, just because you can’t find what you’re looking for!
2. Keep your bathroom cleaning supplies together
Bathrooms need to be cleaned often, and it’s a waste of time to have to look under the kitchen sink or in the laundry for all the different products you need to make your bathroom shine. Instead, why not keep a little plastic tub tucked away somewhere (ideally in the bathroom) with all the cleaning products you need.
It’s a good idea to keep sprays, bleaches, and other products, as well as a roll of disposable cloths, a few sponges, and some antibacterial wipes as well. This makes cleaning as easy as possible and ensures that there are fewer steps to just getting in there and getting it done when it needs doing.
It also makes it easier to delegate the job (the ultimate time-saving hack, haha!).
3. Shelving, shelving, and more shelving!
Shelves are the hero of the organizational world. They make good use of empty walls, you can easily see and reach what’s on them, and hey—they look great too!
There are countless ways to use shelving in your bathroom, like little cubbyhole shelves for your small toiletries and accessories or bigger shelves for folded towels and washcloths.
Get as much as you can out from down low and onto shelves to make space for bulky and less attractive items that you can easily tuck away in cabinets and drawers. Just take care to create shelving zones, so everyone in the house knows where to put things back.
4. Creates kid’s bathroom storage zones
Kids need a lot of structure and routine to help them stay tidy and giving them their own little spaces is a great way to do this. Give each kid a bathroom drawer, a little basket under the sink, or an easily reachable cubby. Anything that’s big enough for all their things and is easy to keep clean.
Be sure to include all the tools they need, like drawer dividers, holders, spaces for bath toys, toothbrushes etc., and then make a big deal about this being their special space. (This step is important.) Teach them where everything goes, and let them know it’s their responsibility to keep things tidy.
Every parent knows this can take some serious patience, and some days it feels like a fool’s errand, but it is worth it to teach them to take responsibility for their own space and belongings.

5. Colour-code your towels
If you have a big family (or guests) and everyone is sharing a bathroom, the towel situation can get a little confusing. You can make keeping towels separate a lot easier on everyone by installing a row of pegs and giving everyone different color towels.
(Or if the idea of different color towels makes your skin twitch, try stitching loops of different colors onto each of your towels. Then use the loops to hang them.)
This is not only a neat way to store towels in the bathroom; it will also cut down significantly on the amount of washing you have to do. If everyone knows which towel is theirs, they will be less likely to reach for a fresh towel every couple of days out of confusion.
6. Organize your hair styling tools
Maybe not everyone has a hairdryer, a straightener, a curling iron, and six other chorded styling tools like I do, but most people have at least a few. You can make a special space for all of your styling tools by using a hair dryer organiser.
The back of a cupboard door is a great place to hang a hair care organizer, as is the wall by your plugs. You can get organizers to go pretty much anywhere, so take the time to pick the right option for your space to keep your styling tools out of the way but also easily accessible.
7. Invest in a great shower caddy
From shampoo and conditioner to soap, face wash, razors and everything in-between—there is a LOT of stuff that we need within easy reach when we’re showering. And if you’re sharing your shower with other people, it can quickly get out of control.
The solution is an excellent show caddy. Invest in a quality one that won’t tip, and that’s easy to clean. Also, don’t be afraid to get a second one if you need it. It’s better than having bottles all over the floor or on the side of the tub.
Just make sure you regularly throw away empty bottles so you can keep your shower and your bathroom clutter-free. (And yes, I see you there hanging on to all those bottles of nearly empty products! Just use that last bit up and get rid of it. You’ll be glad you did.)
8. Create a system for your linen closet
Having an organized linen closet makes a huge difference, even if your’s isn’t technically in the bathroom. This is important so it doesn’t become a dump zone for random objects, so take a minute to decide exactly what you want to store there and where it will go.
When you’re done that, create zones for everything and make sure that anything you use often is toward the front and readily accessible. You can use plastic boxes or baskets to make organizing easier, and if you take the time, create labels as well.
If your linen closet looks good, everyone in the family will be more likely to maintain your systems. And if they don’t? At least it will be easier to put things back where they belong.
